Introduction of Water-based Polyurethane Dispersions

What is“Water-based Polyurethane Dispersions”?
Water-based polyurethane dispersions, known as PUDs, is an eco-friendly polyurethane resin that use water as the primary solvent. The usage volume of water-based polyurethane dispersions have been growing rapidly and largely due to environmental concepts of reducing VOCs in coatings and adhesives. The application of water-based polyurethane dispersions have been widely developed in footwear, leather, textile, paint and construction industries. PUDs’ superior properties, such as abrasion resistance, impact strength and low temperature flexibility, continuously expand its usage in many applications. Most importantly, since water is the primary solvent, water-based polyurethane dispersions can effectively reduce or eliminate the use of fugitive organic solvents during the operation process.
